About

Molo Songololo is a specialised child rights organisation with a strong focus on sexual exploitation and trafficking. Founded over 45 years ago, Molo Songololo targets children and youth aged 12 to 17 in poor rural and urban communities, their families and community members. They provide essential prevention and early intervention social support services including intakes, referrals, assessments, counselling, therapeutic and empowerment services to child and youth victims of gender-based sexual violence, sexual exploitation and related offences.

For individual cases, they support girl victims of sexual abuse and exploitation through assessments and referrals, family, school, police reporting and court support, counselling and therapeutic sessions, and healing and empowerment camps.

Beyond direct services, they conduct public education for children, youth and adults to prevent and combat child sexual exploitation, trafficking in children and child pornography, and empower children to speak out and take part in public decision-making and law reform. Their branches in Beaufort West, Observatory, Atlantis and Delft serve as the ground-level delivery points for these services across the Western Cape.
