Lifeline Pretoria operates a dedicated Rape Crisis Line providing immediate, confidential telephonic counselling to survivors of sexual violence in the Pretoria and Tshwane metropolitan area.

Services

  • 24-hour rape crisis telephonic counselling — trained counsellors provide immediate emotional support, safety planning, and guidance on medical and legal steps following a sexual assault.
  • Stop Gender Violence Helpline (0800 150 150) — toll-free, 24/7 support for all forms of gender-based violence.
  • Face-to-face counselling — short-term crisis counselling and trauma debriefing for rape and sexual assault survivors.
  • Referral and accompaniment — referral to hospitals for medical examination (rape kit), to SAPS for case reporting, and to the Department of Social Development for ongoing support.
  • Court support — preparation and accompaniment for survivors going through the criminal justice process.
