About Black Sash Gqeberha

Black Sash is South Africa's most long-standing human rights and social rights advocacy organisation, founded in 1955 by women who stood in silent protest against apartheid. Today, Black Sash focuses on social justice, access to social security, and human rights — operating advice offices and running the national SASSA helpline and paralegal training programmes across the country.

The Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth) office is located at 384 Dorsham House, cnr Elizabeth Street and Govan Mbeki Avenue, North End, Gqeberha, 6001, and serves the Nelson Mandela Bay metro.
